Virginia Vascular Center is composed of board certified or board eligible Interventional Radiologists from Virginia Radiology Associates. Our physicians are subspecialty trained in Interventional Radiology.  We provide Interventional Radiology services throughout northern and central Virginia, with an outpatient office in Manassas, Virginia
Douglas J. Markert, M.D., received his bachelors degree from the University of Rochester, received his medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School, completed his internship and his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Maryland Medical System and his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Markert is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular Interventional Radiology. Dr. Markert joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 1999. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Vascular and Interventional Radiology by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine for many years. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology and its Virginia Chapter, the American Medical Association, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. His specialties and areas of interest are the treatment of venous and arterial vascular disease including embolizations and the treatment of aneurysms and varicose veins.
 
Michael A. Abramson, M.D., received a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Abramson is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Abramson joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 2013. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology. His specialties and areas of interest are in interventional oncology and women’s interventions including Uterine Artery (Fibroid) Embolizations.
 
Stanley B. Washington, M.D., received his bachelors degree from The George Washington University Columbian School of Arts and Sciences, received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Washington is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Washington joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 2015 from the Virginia Hospital Center, where he was a highly valued interventional radiologist for over 10 years. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Vascular and Interventional Radiology by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine for many years. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and its Chesapeake Chapter, and the American College of Radiology and its Virginia Chapter. His specialty and area of interest is the treatment of small vessel peripheral vascular disease including infrapopliteal disease utilizing retrograde approach.
 
Harvinder S. Jagait, M.D., received his bachelors degree from the University of California, Davis, and received his medical degree from the New York Medical College. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. He completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. Dr. Jagait is Board-eligible with the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Jagait joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 2015. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, Phi Kappa Phi, The Golden Key International Honour Society and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. His specialties and areas of interest are in oncologic interventional radiology include solid organ and soft-tissue radiofrequency, microwave and cryoablation; and hepatic radioembolization for primary and metastatic cancer.
 
Christopher A. Moosavi, M.D., received his bachelors degree from American University and received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology was completed at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Moosavi is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Moosavi joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 2015. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the Fauquier County Medical Society. His specialties and areas of interest are in interventional oncology including chemoembolization and radioembolization; pelvic congestion syndrome and IVC filter placement.
 
Dena L. Menzel, NP, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from DePaul University in Chicago IL.  In 2005 she completed the Adult Nurse Practitioner program and received her Master of Science degree from George Mason University.  She is certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  Dena joined Virginia Radiology Associates in 2009 with a background in cardiovascular, general surgery and emergency medicine.  She is a member of the Virginia Counsel of Nurse Practitioners.
